Perinatal Mental Health

Supporting you through every step of the journey.

1 in 5 Women and 1 in 10 Men experience depression or anxiety during pregnancy or postpartum. Only 25% of those impacted are identified and receive treatment.

You’re Not Alone!

Struggling with your emotions during or after birth? It’s normal to experience challenges, but sometimes it’s more than just the “baby blues.” Social myths about having a baby can make mothers and fathers feel worse when they feel down. I provide support for those going through the stages of parenthood including conception, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting.

Take the First Step Towards Healing

With professional care, emotional support and the right resources, you can begin to feel like yourself again.

Life can bring unexpected challenges that can cause anxiety, depression or trauma.

Life transitions can be complicated with various levels of emotional toll. I believe in fostering emotional growth and development. My goal is to create a safe and conducive environment that will help clients navigate current difficulties.

What are the benefits of Walk-and-Talk Therapy?

Walk-and-Talk Therapy is a mindfulness-based body oriented therapy that can be conducive to the process of self-discovery. It encourages a client to be more physically active for physical and emotional well-being. Walking side by side enables some clients to feel more comfortable when sharing in the therapy process.

How Can Walk-and-Talk Therapy help me?

Walk-and-Talk Therapy can have a positive impact on symptoms of anxiety, sleep patterns, stress levels, symptoms of depression, life-transitions and improved emotional regulation.

Additionally, you can receive the feel-good brain chemical benefits of exercise, mindfulness practice, and eco-psychology. In session, you can alter behavior patterns and clear the body-mind of intrusive, negative and ruminative thoughts and sensations.

What Happens in a Session?

We will meet at a previously agreed upon location. We start walking and talking while you lead the pace. We will discuss what comes to mind that day, as if we were sitting inside an office or in front of a screen. At times, we might take a moment to stand in silent reflection, deep breathe or sit in guided visualization.
